Tumbitri Meri Notebook Review

Tumbitri Meri Notebook Review - is it good for bullet journals or creative planning? Find out! + Video unboxing & pen test results | ChocolateMusings.com #bulletjournal #notebookreview #review

Here is my thorough review of the Tumbitri Meri dot-grid notebook. I’ll answer if it’s good for bullet journaling and watercolor for creative planning. Plus let you in on all the statistics. Love an unboxing video? Check out the video below + bonus pen test results.

I’d love to know if there are any features you want me to test or describe. I hope you enjoy this product review!

Tumbitri Meri Notebooks

I’m always on the hunt for a new quality notebook. Someone in a Facebook group mentioned Tumbitri Meri, and I decided to check them out on Amazon. The book was reasonably priced, especially considering that it came with a metal ruler specifically designed for Bullet Journaling (or creative journaling whichever way you look at it).

Based on the pentest and first impressions, I’m excited to use this notebook for the next few months, and if all goes well, I’ll reorder it again!

FYI: This post is NOT sponsored. I purchased the notebook with my own money with the intent to use the notebook as a bullet journal for the next few months.

Overall Impressions of the Tumbitri Meri Notebook:

Tumbitri Meri Notebook (in purple) Review with box & ruler | ChocolateMusings.com #bulletjournal #notebookreview #productreview

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Tumbitri Meri notebook. And impressed with the quality of the paper. The only bleeding issues I had would be easily avoided and would not be an issue for daily use or under most circumstances.

UPDATE: After regular use of the notebook & creating several spreads, I found that using a water pen with watercolors and markers caused some bleeding. It also bled slightly when I was too heavy-handed with Tombow Dual Brush Markers.

The Tumbitri Meri notebook would be great for Instagram photos since the pages do not ghost and are already bright white with their small, medium gray dot grid.

The pages are smooth and luxurious to the touch. The notebook has more pages, 220, vs. 160 in most other journals.

*Side note: they have 180 page / 120 gsm notebooks as well. I did not test that version.

The available colors are limited, but I read in the Amazon description that a one-woman show runs this notebook/company. It’s not a big corporation, so I get why there are limited colors/versions and I like to support small businesses.

Positives:

Tumbitri Notebook Review - 220 Pages + small medium-gray dot grid with 160 GSM thick paper - sounds like a great combination for Bullet Journals | ChocolateMusings.com #productreview #notebookreview #tumbitirmeri

I love the ruler that comes with the planner. It is specifically created with 5mm dot grids in mind so creating spreads in your bullet journal is a breeze!

The paper is so smooth and bright. It holds up to most pens and markers, and they glide beautifully on the sheets. The dot grid is just subtle enough to serve as a guide and doesn’t stand out when taking pictures.

With no ghosting or bleeding under regular use, I’m looking forward to painting, planning, and doodling in this notebook. With 220 pages, I know that I’ll get some great use out of collections as well.

Negatives:

Golden Ruler! This notebook rules with it's golden ruler + ruler pocket | ChocolateMusings.com #productreview #ruler #goldenrule
Tumbitri Meri Notebook - Blank Outlined/Lined Index Page | ChocolateMusings.com #bulletjournal #index #productreview
Tumbitiri Meri Notebook Review - Dark Numbers on each page | ChocolateMusings.com #productreview #notebookreview #bulletjournal

The index pages are darkly lined and outlined. I also did not like how dark the numbers were in the corners of the pages. My preference is that all markings in the book are subtle enough to be noticeable when I want them, but fade away when I don’t need them.

One other thing I didn’t like was that the front pocket for the ruler makes the first few pages a bit bumpy. But once you get 10 or more pages in, you don’t really notice it unless you are related to the princess and the pea. Ultimately, none of these factors are game-stoppers for me.

Watch the Unboxing & Pen Test Page Results Below:

Review of Tumbitri Meri Notebook Statistics:

*Anything Marked CM are my own assessments

  • Notebook Size: I would dub it as A5+ (measures just larger than the usual A5 notebook but has the same grid size as A5) – 5.5 inches wide x 8.25 tall.
  • Measurements: Each sheet measures 14 cm x 20.9 cm (140mm x 129mm) or 5.5 x 8.25 inches.
  • Pages: 220
  • Numbered Pages: Yes (the numbers are very dark on the page)
  • CM Page Smoothness Scale: 95/100
  • CM Page Brightness Scale (how white the pages are): 95/100
  • Dot Grid: yes
  • Dot Size: Small
  • Grid Darkness: Medium
  • Pen Loop: Yes (on Spine)
  • Page Markers: 3
  • Back Pocket: Yes + BONUS front pocket for the included metal ruler
  • Index Pages: 4 (Lined within an enclosed box)
  • Key Page: No
  • Designated Pen Test Page: No
  • Owner/Contact Info Page: Yes
  • Page GSM: 160
  • Dot Grid: 27 dots wide per page x 39 dots tall per page which is 26×38 spaces per page or 52×38 spaces per spread
  • Binding: Stitched Layflat Binding
  • Cover Embellishments: Debossed symbol on the front painted in gold and debossed brand name on the back
  • Removable Pages: No. The listing on Amazon said the last eight pages were perforated and detachable. The notebook I received did not have perforated pages. But I don’t care about that. I never remove pages anyway.

Extras: The book I bought came with a gorgeous gold-colored metal ruler with shapes designed specifically for bullet journaling. I’m excited to try it out!

** Please note that there are other versions with different paper options (page numbers/gsm) available from this seller.

Pen Test Result:

Pen test results - watch the video unboxing + pen test for a true test of the results. | ChocolateMusings.com #pentest #ghosting #bleedthrough
  • Bleed: Yes – minimal (see below)
  • Ghosting: No

Need to know what the difference is between bleeding and ghosting? Check out this post.

Disclaimer: I don’t use fountain pens, so I don’t test for fountain pen usage. But I do watercolor and blend with markers, so I use a heavy hand on my pen test pages, so I know what the limit is while using the notebook regularly.

As long as you don’t multi-layer Tombow markers and try to blend them with the colorless blender or water pen, a single marker layer doesn’t bleed through to the other side. In addition, if you don’t slather your page with water before using watercolor pigment, these pages seem to stand up wonderfully to everything else.

The page bled when I layered multiple dark Tombow Dual Brush Marker colors and tried to blend them with the colorless blender and with a water pen. It also bled when I tried a wet wash on the paper with just water.

When using watercolor pigment and a large amount of water, the paper did not bleed, and the colors seemed to blend nicely on the page. I added multiple layers of watercolor while the page was wet and was pleasantly surprised that it held up and did not bleed.

UPDATE: After regular use of the notebook & creating several spreads, I found that using a water pen with watercolors and markers caused some bleeding. It also bled slightly when I was too heavy-handed with Tombow Dual Brush Markers.

July Random Holidays – Add Some Fun, Creative & Random Holidays to Your Calendar

July Random Holidays - add some fun, creative, & random holidays to your calendar | ChocolateMusings.com #julyrandomholidays #randomholidays #celebrate

Don’t you think that we all could need some random holidays to celebrate this July? I don’t know about you, but I know I need to take control of something in my life because it feels like everything is out of control. The only thing that I know that I have control over how happy I am – because I believe that happiness is a choice.

But choosing to be happy is tough some days! I’ve found that adding some random holidays to your monthly calendar helps create an excuse to be happy even when it’s tough.

This July, we have some fun random holidays to look forward to celebrating. Food days like lollipop day or junk food day are destined to provide a good laugh. By the way, I’d love to know which holidays you celebrate! Leave me a note and let me know which ones you added to your schedule.

Teach Yourself to Look on the Bright Side with Random Holidays

Teaching myself to look on the bright side of life isn’t easy! That’s why I decided to start celebrating random holidays. Celebrating a silly holiday is an excellent way for my family to smile and laugh. Like always, I choose to feature silly or food-related holidays, and of course, creative days! But there are many more random holidays that you could add to your calendar.

I invite you to choose some random holidays this July and add them to your calendar. You’d be surprised how adding little snippets of fun to your schedule improves your mood.

July is a special month for me – it’s my birthday month! I have a goal to focus on being happy and seeing the good this month. The other goal I have is to come up with as many puns as I can related to these July random holidays.

Find Other Random Holidays to Celebrate in July

If you’d like to find other random holidays to celebrate in July or any other month, I have a list of websites at the bottom of this post that you can search for additional holidays that suit your family. They add new holidays all the time. I created a Google Calendar which I share for free. I included instructions on how to add the calendar view so you can refer to it. You can toggle it on and off, so it doesn’t clutter your regular schedule.

Random Food Holidays in July

20 – Lollipop Day
21 – Junk Food Day
23 – Vanilla Ice Cream Day
25 – Hot Fudge Sundae
28 – Milk Chocolate Day
30 – Cheesecake Day
31 – Avocado Day

If you were to celebrate the random holiday on July 21 with your favorite junk food, what would you choose? I believe I would snack on some Hot Tamales or a Twix bar. Of course, if you made sugar cookies for the 9th and wisely stowed some away, you could snack on sugar cookies.

It sure seems like we celebrate a lot of ice cream-related random holidays during June and July. Not that I’m complaining about the ice cream. On the contrary, I think whoever designated these holidays was very wise, and we should have more ice cream random holidays. If you like ice cream, check out my June Plan With me, it’s all about ice cream.

Side note, if you want to find out about the holiday’s origins, check out the links below, I link to each website source. And there are a lot more random holidays to celebrate, more than my little featured selection.

Here’s a link to all of the Skillshare classes relating to the moon. My personal favorite is by Kolbie Bloom, where she shows three incredible and easy techniques to watercolor paint the moon.

Fun

6 – Kissing Day
8 – Video Game Day
10 – Kitten Day
29 – Lipstick Day
31 – Harry Potter’s Birthday

What fun could you have on kitten day? I better not tell my kids about this holiday, we might end up adopting all the kittens!

I know my husband and my kids will find a way to celebrate video game day. Whether it’s an excuse to play or a real celebration, I don’t think I’ll ever know. Either way, I don’t know that I care.

Oh, there are so many ways to celebrate Harry Potter’s Birthday! Have a movie marathon. Wizardingworld.com features various actors & actresses reading chapters of Harry Potter. Of course, there is butterbeer and other tasty treats to discover from the magical world of Harry Potter. If you need a quiet day, you can always sit and read your favorite book in the series. Mine is book number #3.

Random Holidays – Google Calendar

After celebrating different holidays for over a year, I decided to create a Google Calendar to see all the holidays I’d love to celebrate. It makes it easy to share creations, words, and ideas on social media and with friends and family. The best part about Google calendars is that you can toggle them on and off when you don’t want to see them.

If you click on the calendar item, it has a link to the source & relevant hashtags! I’m always evolving this calendar – and I will add calendar days or corrections all the time.

Tip: The calendar will show the current month, you can navigate to the month of your choice by using the arrows or dropdown.

If you want to add my calendar to your Google calendar:

  • Go to your Google calendars and click the + next to other calendars
  • Choose ‘add other calendars.’
  • Then click Subscribe to Calendar
  • After that, paste the text below in the “add calendar.”
  • Toggle the schedule on and off when you want to access it – that’s what I do.

I won’t list all the random holidays, but just the ones that work with ChocolateMusings.com – so, of course, you’ll see a lot of food, art, creativity & some miscellaneous holidays are thrown in as well.

Easy Watercolor Wash Background – Plan With Me

June 25, 2020 Leave a Comment

Plan With Me - July Background Watercolor Wash Techniques + Video | ChocolateMusings.com #watercolor #watercolorwash #bulletjournal #planwithme

I had a TON of fun creating this watercolor wash background in my bullet journal for July’s monthly calendar page. From watercolors to Tombow markers, I tried many techniques and discovered a new one with the Tombow colorless blender marker + a gray marker. Now I’m obsessed.

This month, I didn’t start with a plan. Sounds silly for a plan-with-me post. But some of the best adventures in art and in life I’ve ever had weren’t planned. I wanted to recreate a watercolor wash background for my monthly page, but that’s all I knew.

Upcoming:

I’m excited to start a new book in August, so watch for some fun plan with me videos. I’m going to try the Scribbles that Matter Covers + removable inserts and see how they compare to the bound book I use regularly. Since I was running out of pages, it’s also why I didn’t include a cover page. I had just enough pages to skip the welcome page & journal page and complete the month.

Question:

Which pages (like a cover page) do you like to include in your planner, but aren’t necessary for day-to-day plans? Leave me a comment below. I’d love to know!

The Inspiration for the Watercolor Wash Background

Background Watercolor Wash Inspiration Purple to Pink with Block-Out Areas Inspiration for July Plan With me | ChocolateMusings.com #watercolorwas #backgroundwash #bulletjournal

Here’s what I wanted to experiment with and recreate in a sense from July 2018. Funny that I tend to repeat myself every couple of years. But the technique is so fun, and the variety is endless.

In this case, I chose to do a fade ombre watercolor wash effect on the background, starting at purple on the top and fading to pinkish. Then I outlined each of the date squares with a thick outline using the same colors.

Supplies:

  • Scribbles That Matter A5 notebook
  • Tombow Dual Brush Markers
    • Welcome Page: 243, 346, 373, 452, 515, 565, N65 Clear Blender
    • Brain Dump/Weeklies: 373, 443, 451, 491, 493, 526, 528, 565, 636, 676, N55, Clear Blender
  • Watercolor Paints
  • Waterbrush
  • Paintbrushes
  • Cricut Air + Non-Permanent Vinyl
  • 3×3 Sticky Notes
  • 3×4 Sticky Notes or larger
  • Tombow Fudenosuke Hard Tip – Gray
  • Pentel Sign Brush Pen – Light Gray & Dark Gray
  • Dr. Ph Martin’s Bleed Proof White – for splatters on a weekly page
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Xacto Knife
  • Cutting Mat

Calendar Page Watercolor Wash Quick Process:

  • Cut Sticky Notes to Size - and use to block off Background Areas Before Painting | Chocolatemusings.com #tipsandtricks #tricks #watercolor
  • Background Watercolor Wash Tips & Tricks - Use as little water as possible in your Bullet Journal to avoid page bleed | ChocolateMusings.com #bulletjournal #tipsandtricks #watercolor
  • Remove the Sticky Notes after Painting the Watercolor Wash in your Bullet Journal - the effect is fun & unique - add shadows to make it look 3D | ChocolateMusings.com #watercolorwash #bulletjournal #background

Using sticky notes to block out portions of the page, then painting to the edge of the page and around the sticky notes, it created a mottled underwater look. I also tried the Tombow + bag trick. But I over watered the bag, so the paint seeped through to the opposite page.

Lesson learned: don’t try to cover a whole page using the Tombow Bag background watercolor wash technique. I used way to much water and made the ink bleed through to the opposite page.

Watercolor Wash Background Tip:

One quick tip: when you use watercolor, especially over a large area like a background wash, sometimes it can add a texture (almost feels grainy sometimes) to the paper that some pens don’t like to write on. But if you use markers, either Tombow or Crayola or another kind of marker, you won’t get the watercolor texture. Your page may buckle a little from the water itself, but you won’t add additional watercolor paint texture to the paper.

Adding Shadows Under the Blocked Out Areas of the Watercolor Wash

Easily Create a 3D Effect with Faded Shadows using Gray + the Clear Blender | ChocolateMusings.com #tombow #markers #howto

Here’s a classic case of making lemonade from a botched paint job. This watercolor wash didn’t go as expected. The paint sneaked all around the sticky note. The color combination made it feel like it was underwater, which I thought was great. So I had an idea of adding shadows to make the watercolor wash look like it was punched out of the page.

Pressing the tip of a gray marker & the colorless blender, then using the colorless blender to create the shadows along the edge of the squares, it makes an amazing 3D effect.

I have to tell you something. This method is now my new favorite way to create shadows. I used it behind the letters on most of the weekly pages I did this month.

With the shadows’ additions, it looks like I completely meant to have the ink seep through into the boxes. I love it when you can convert a catastrophe into a win.

Fitting in Essentials for the Month

Since I ran out of pages this month, I added a small habit tracker on the bottom of the page where I can track five habits for the month. To the left, I’ll add notes or maybe keep it for a journaling page since I also had to skip the journal page to conserve the page count.

Brain Dump Page: Shadowy Thoughts & Reflections

Alternate names for brain dump - Shadowy Thoughts & Reflections | ChocolateMusings.com #bulletjournal #braindump
Shadow Thoughts & Reflections - Alternate Names for Brain Dump | ChocolateMusings.com #braindump

Continuing on the watercolor wash theme, and since the colors, I used to look like the Caribbean ocean to me, and I was using shadows, it was fun to name the page Shadowy Thoughts & Reflections.

Want some other names for a brain dump page? Check out my blog post here, with 150+ different names for brain dump.

Weeklies + Watercolor Wash

I decided to try several different styles for weeklies this month. That’s one thing I love about bullet journaling. I can change it up and try new layouts or styles every turn of the page. Each of them follows the same color scheme and includes shadows that make them cohesive.

Looking Forward

Despite the level of apocalyptic bad the year has been, this notebook has been good to me. I’m excited to move into a new notebook and make new, pretty spreads and try new ideas. I hope you’ll try some of these techniques, whether it’s the watercolor wash, naming your brain dump page, or adding shadows with the markers like I discovered this month.

Good luck with your plans, and I wish you a prosperous and productive month.

Wishing you joy and creativity every day - Tricia

June Plan With Me – Ice Cream Theme + Video

June Plan With Me: Bullet Journal Ice Cream Theme

Welcome to June’s plan with me – Where the theme is ice cream! I can’t tell if I’m more thrilled with the result or enjoyed the process more. Whichever it is, I am excited to share a bit of my process and the fun ice-cream related artwork for June’s plan with me.

When I decided on ice cream for this month’s theme, I envisioned a lot of sparkling glasses of ice cream with perfectly shaped scoops and delicious-looking flavors popping off the page. However, when I sketched it out, I kept drawing the scoops falling towards the glass or falling on the ground. One of my weekly pages has only cones and my brain dump page, well, that one features either a lucky seagull or an unlucky ice cream lover.

I’m not sure if it’s the unrest with the world that made drawing the ‘ideal’ or ‘perfect set’ of ice cream spreads difficult, or if it was just a particularly rough day when I sketched it all in. All of the spreads have a certain quirky quality. Regardless, I love the outcome and can’t wait to share them with you. All I can hope is that they will bring a bit of joy to your day.

  • Habit Tracker / Goals Page (dropped ice cream cone)
  • Journal Page (banana split)
  • Weeklies (empty ice cream, popsicles, ice cream toppings, and stacked ice cream cone)
  • Brain Dump (that’s the one with the seagull and unfortunate ice cream cone)

  • Marie’s Watercolor Paint Set (used for all watercolor painting)

  • Tombow Mono Dust Catch Eraser
  • Papermate White Pearl Eraser
  • 6″ Stainless Steel Ruler
  • Masking Fluid (blocks off portions of your page – don’t apply with your good paintbrushes!)
  • Kid’s Paint Brushes (for applying masking fluid)
  • Zebra Rollerball Pens .5 mm (outstanding for outlining drawings and writing fine lines)
  • Zebra Zensations Technical Fine Liner Pens (waterproof & have a wonderful rounded point, so you don’t have to draw straight up and down like other fine liner pens)
  • Tombow Fudenosuke Hard Tip Colors
  • Papermate Ink Joy Pens (these pens are the ones I use to write with daily)

The Plans This Month

How I plan is different, lately. I don’t include a lot of structure or boxes. Instead, I use open space and fill it with what I need that week such as journal space or doodle areas or note-taking.

My planner isn’t all about aesthetics. Although, getting excited to open the book because of the ice cream theme doesn’t hurt. I use it functionally, and that’s part of the reason why I like to include plan with me posts on this blog.

I know a lot of people ‘just aren’t into planning right now,’ but it is one thing that I need to remain constant in my life. Planning is a habit I’ve worked hard to establish, and one that I don’t want to have to work hard to re-establish once we start returning to ‘normal’ whatever that means.

Watch the Plan With Me Video

Habits and Goals

One habit I know I need to re-establish is my weight loss goal & efforts. I was doing so well with tracking my eating habits and weight loss for so long. Then I kind of just fell out of practice and have been chasing that wagon begging to hop back on ever since. Maybe I shouldn’t do ice cream planner themes to help get back on track. (Thankfully, I don’t crave ice cream since starting on this theme any more than I did beforehand.)

Have you kept on track with any weight loss or exercise goals this year? I’d love to know what you’ve been doing. Starting to track my food intake and using/finishing my monthly habit trackers is something I’ll include as part of my mid-year goals and on my habit tracker.

I love having an overview of the month where I can see scheduled items or events. Besides keeping a high-level overview of the month, I’ll keep a few notes on this page and a few critical to-dos. But mostly, my to-do lists stay on my weekly spreads.

Habits/Goals

The ice cream cone on this page says it all for how I’ve been doing this year. So the quote on this page says, “It’s ok if you fall. But not if you stay there”. Since June is the middle of the year, I decided to make a page dedicated to reassessing my goals and picking myself back up from the train wreck that has been the first half of the year. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.

Journal Page

Though I leave a lot of room on my weekly pages (especially over the last few months) for journaling, I wanted to have a page specifically dedicated to family memories. The good things that I see, the experiences we have. I find that if I look for the good, I see it. The effect is the same if you look for the bad. This is my page to look for the good.

I can’t tell you how pleased I am with this banana split page. Using masking fluid, I literally sprinkled the page, anticipating where to paint in the sprinkles. I used this effect in April, but this month’s plan with me was definitely smaller-scale when it came to masking fluid.

Bullet Journal Weeklies Sweet Treats - Ice Cream Sundae Plan With Me | ChocolateMusings.com #bulletjournal #icecream #weeklies

Weekly Pages

Other than one week with a vertical, one-page layout, the rest of the weeks use a simple design where I split the page top to bottom with various ice cream-related illustrations. Throw in a few motivational quotes for week’s spreads, and I’m delighted with the outcomes.

  • It's ok if you fall, but not if you stay there. Bullet journal handlettered quote | ChocolateMusings.com #bujo #bulletjournal #handlettering
  • Top off your day with something good. Ice cream themed bullet journal handlettered quote | ChocolateMusings.com #handlettering #lettering #quote
  • How will you fill your days? Bullet Journal Quote | ChocolateMusings.com #bulletjournal #quotes #handlettering

Planner Quotes Used:

Surprisingly most of these quotes relate well to ice cream and getting motivated.

Goals Page:

Its okay if you fall. But not if you stay there.

Empty Ice Cream Cones Weekly:

“How will you fill your days?”

Slowly Consumed Popsicles Weekly:

“Do something great, finish what you start.”

Note: I tried to use a different kind of brush pen to get the rough textures for this quote, and it just didn’t end up working out as I wanted. But it’s ok. I finished it.

Ice Cream Topping Weekly:

“Top off your day with something good.”

A great reminder to focus on the good.

Brain Dump: Last Page in the Ice Cream-Themed Plan With Me

I might have to retitle this page to “What was I thinking?!” instead of “delectable ideas, aka MINE.” 10 points if you get the reference for the aka title. I like how it turned out, and maybe I’ll be careful this month about guarding these delectable thoughts against hungry predators.

If you’d like alternate names for a brain dump page, check out my post featuring 150+ alternatives.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my ice cream themed plan with me, and it gave you a bit of inspiration. Even though it didn’t turn out to what I expected in my head, I think the fun, whimsical designs express a bit of the chaos that we are all living with and will (hopefully) elicit a smile in some form or fashion.

What I’m looking forward to this month:

Setting some goals & getting back on track are two things I look forward to doing this month. I hope to record the good things in life, even if it’s enjoying the silence after the kids go to bed or the smell of gardenia on an evening walk. I intend to write all my feelings. It’s been hard to express myself in the past few months, but I think if I write it down, I might resolve some of the other creative blocks.

Happy planning!

Let me know what you think and what your most significant challenge to plan is for you.

June Random Holidays – Add Some Fun, Creative, & Random Holidays to Your Calendar

June Random Holidays - add some fun, creative, & random holidays to your calendar | ChocolateMusings.com #junerandomholidays #randomholidays #celebrate

Summer is in full swing when the month of June hits our calendars. At least where we live. School schedules are quickly forgotten, but I love to add some June random holidays to celebrate to our calendar.

The holidays in June don’t disappoint, either. I love to separate the listed random holidays into different categories, as you can see below.

At the bottom of the post is a Google Calendar I created, which I share for free that includes my chosen random holidays. Don’t worry, I also included instructions on how to add the calendar to your view. You can always toggle it on and off, so it doesn’t clutter your regular schedule.

I certainly don’t include all the Random Holidays for any given month, so you’ll find a list of websites at the bottom of this post that you can search for additional holidays that suit your family. You can also check out the monthly archives.

The Random Holidays for June are separated into different sections like food, outdoors, and other holidays. I hope you find something (or a few) to celebrate this June!

Random Food Holidays in June

2 – Rotisserie Chicken Day – what’s your favorite chicken recipe? Mine is a good Chicken Salad recipe. Throw it on a croissant and I’m in heaven! Now, If only I could get my kids to eat chicken salad sandwiches.
3 – Egg Day
8 – Name Your Poison Day
11 – Corn on the Cob Day
17 – Eat Your Vegetables Day
22 – Onion Rings Day
29 – Waffle Iron Day

I know there are at least three random food holidays I plan to celebrate this June: corn on the cob day, eat your vegetables day and waffle iron day.

My kids LOVE vegetables, and that includes corn on the cob. Favorite veggies in our house are corn, cucumbers, steamed carrots, & lots of roasted vegetables like broccoli and asparagus. What are some of your favorites?

Anytime I have an excuse to do breakfast for dinner, I take it. The kids are also huge fans of waffles (well, two of them are, anyway). What better way to celebrate waffle iron day than plan dinner around this random holiday?

You could also paint some delicious-looking waffles to celebrate. I did that, too. When I was out west visiting family, we found a fun waffle chain called Waffle Luv. And boy, oh boy, did they have good waffles. I wish I could celebrate waffle iron day with them.

Besides creating something related to random holidays, the easiest way to celebrate something this June is to mark the day with food! The 27th is my oldest sons’ birthday. So I think an ice cream cake is ideal for celebrating his special day.

7 – Chocolate Ice Cream Day
12 – Peanut Butter Cookie Day
16 – Fudge Day
20 – Ice Cream Soda Day

June Random Holidays to Celebrate Outdoors

Sometimes I need an excuse to go outside. I’m sure you know the feeling, it’s easy to stay inside after work and watch tv. These are a few excuses to get you outside and get you laughing. If not outside, then these June Random Holidays are excellent subjects for painting or doodling.

1 – Go Barefoot Day
1 – Nail Polish Day – Barefoot day & Nail Polish day go hand in hand or (I guess foot in foot). Either way, these two random holidays are perfect for starting off the month of June and certainly seem to fit together.
3 – Bicycle Day
5 – Hot Air Balloon Day
6 – Drive-in Movie Day – what a perfect summertime adventure!
8 – World Oceans Day
12 – Red Rose Day
22 – World Rainforest Day

Here are a few of my favorite drawings/paintings related to the outdoor holidays this month plus some stickers I created to celebrate days out of the house. There are so many more I’d like to add to this collection!

  • Toggle the schedule on and off when you want to access it – that’s what I do.

chocolatemusings.com_q316ucpnldal611fs2q2nnk7v0@group.calendar.google.com

I won’t list all the random holidays, but just the ones that work with ChocolateMusings.com – so, of course, you’ll see a lot of food, art, creativity & some miscellaneous holidays are thrown in as well.

About Me

Hi! I'm Tricia, the creative behind ChocolateMusings.com, I know how it feels to lose your inner muse. After years of darkness (which I call the dark ages of my life), I found my inner muse hiding in the forgotten corners of my soul, I vowed never to lose sight of her again.

Bullet journaling helped reignite the passion for art and living life again while organizing my days. I also discovered modern calligraphy and watercolor. Since then, my use of the bullet journal system has evlolved and I call it 'creative planning'. Here on the blog, I show you how to use your planner to ignite your inner muse and explore creativity and art while staying beautifully organized and living a joyful life.

I invite you to grab some good chocolate and dive into my musings. Let’s ignite your inner muse.
