April Plan With Me Citrus Recipe Art Inspired

April Plan With Me 2019 – The Inspiration: Citrusy Water Infusion Recipe Art

After a couple of months taking a break to refocus, I’m excited to show you my planner setup for April. The inspiration this month’s plan with me: Recipe Art I’m completely obsessed with the idea of taking old family recipes and doodling the various elements and creating a visual recipe card.

This month I took that idea with a modern twist – each of the spreads for April are different fruit & herb water infusion recipes. I’m happy to say that it resulted in bright colors and mouth-watering blends. While researching the combinations, not only did I choose beautiful colors, but I look forward to trying these flavor combinations.

When I showed my husband, he looked excited and asked me when I was going to sample the recipes.  It’s an excellent opportunity to get back on track with my weight loss goals. Diet Dr pepper is my vice. I’m looking for a way to break its grip and cut the soda. Flavor-infused water sounded tempting and delicious all in one!

Watch the April Plan With Me video below and make sure to subscribe in the lower corner of the video!

Fun characteristics from this month’s plans:

In addition to bright, citrusy colors, and recipe inspirations, I’m excited about several different items featured throughout the month. After looking at some pictures of herbs (my friend Amy (@PurplescapeDesign) also did a challenge a couple of months ago featuring herbs), I tried to include their distinct characteristics and colors as I painted them. In the video, I mention the mint leaves, and if you look carefully at the mint leaves, it’s almost like they have a leaf within a leaf.

If you notice the way I painted the thyme leaf, I used the tip of the water pen and pushed down, leaving a leaf imprint. I discovered that trick a few months ago with some Tombow Dual Brush pens. I plan on showing you the specifics of this technique in a later post.

Circle Habit Tracker on Tracing Paper

The circular habit prints.  Using tracing paper, I printed a circle habit tracker and taped it over top of a large cut section of a painted orange. Since the paper is partly transparent, you can see the detail of the orange through the tracing paper. I did this in February too, and it’s going to happen more and more because I LOVE the look.

Note: If you try this at home – PLEASE be very careful with printing on tracing paper and DO NOT print using a laser printer – it will probably melt the paper and ruin your machine. I still have some kinks to work out to make it perfect, but I’m pretty excited.

Transparent Habit Tracker - Print, Paste & Mark | ChocolateMusings.com #habittracker #bulletjournal

Monthly Overview + Habit Tracker

I combined my monthly page with the habit tracker because I rarely referred to the monthly page by its self. I like the overview of the month, but I live mostly in my weekly plans. So I created a small monthly calendar with room to write out dates or monthly to-dos or notes below the calendar.

By the way, if you’ve never used a habit tracker before, I was skeptical, too. But once I started, I never stopped. It’s like it unlocks a secret magical will to improve your life one day at a time. And if you neglect it one day, week, month, you have the power to try again the next month.

For the longest time, I tracked ‘doing dishes’ because this household chore was a struggle every single day. Eventually, after several months, I created a steady habit and haven’t tracked it since, and I still do the dishes. I don’t like them, but I do the necessary evil thing.

Painting With Crayola Markers

If you’ve seen my other plan with me videos, you’ll already know that I LOVE painting in my journal both with watercolor and with Crayola Markers. It’s one of the reasons I tried out every notebook I could get my hands on and why I finally fell in love with my current notebook, one by Archer & Olive. If they had an affiliate program, I’d join in a heartbeat. The paper is 160 gsm (which means it’s very thick) and is so beautifully white instead of ivory or cream. Their paper can handle watercolor paint – most notebooks soak the paper and then bleed through to the other side.

There are two main reasons why I prefer painting in my journal with Crayola Markers:

One – They have so many colors! Two – there’s no paint texture left after painting with markers, so I can write over it with any marker or pen that I want.

A bonus reason why I love painting with Crayola Markers: I use less water on the page, so there’s less overall wrinkling and buckling.

Want to learn to paint with Crayola Markers too? Click to read my blog post – it’s really easy and you don’t need a lot of supplies to start adding pops of color to your planner.

Minimal Weeklies

As you can see, I didn’t include a lot of boxes or separated areas on my weekly layouts. I am trying some new layouts, but they’re all pretty minimal. One thing I added to most of the weeks was a line dedicated to each member of my family. My kids have ‘specials’ at school. They rotate classrooms or activities and need to bring or wear different items each day. In an attempt to be a well-put-together mother, I jot down each of their specials so I’m better prepared for wardrobe or equipment requests each day.

Large Space for Journaling/To-Dos

One reason why I’ve stuck with bullet journaling as my planner for so long (it’s now about 3 years since I started using a bullet journal to keep track of my life!), is the flexibility and creativity it offers. Last month I added quite a lot of journaling to each page and loved it.

Creating pages with minimal outlines allow me more flexibility for the needs of the week. So if I have a lot of miscellaneous to-dos, I have space to fill the week with these items. If, instead, I have a lot to record (more than just fits on my “All the Things” journal page”) the space on the weekly easily accommodates. If I need to add more space for journaling, as I did last month, I literally tape in a page or a section of paper so it lifts like a flap. Washi tape for the win!

I love sharing my plan with me videos & monthly planner set up. I hope I’ve given you some ideas and inspiration for adding function and fun to your planner.

Let me know what you think of my April Plan With Me in the comments below. I’d love to know which flavor infusion do you want to try.

Check back later this month for how to create flavor infusion doodles!

Random Holidays – Find Reasons to Add Joy to Your Life

Random Holidays Challenge – Find Reasons to Celebrate and Add Joy

Finding joy in everyday life is difficult, I know! Some weeks I look back and wonder what I’ve done with my life. Sometimes the days blend together and I can’t remember anything unique for the week. But then a couple of years ago, I discovered random holidays and started ‘celebrating’ some of the days.

Since then, my family has grown to love random holidays. They look forward to finding joy in small ways. Some holidays are downright silly; others might become your next family tradition. For instance, as a family, we celebrated International ice cream for breakfast day. My kids thought it was the best day ever. I don’t care that it’s obscure or unknown, and neither did my kids. To celebrate Sloppy Joe Day, guess what we had for dinner? If you said cereal you’d be wrong.

Did you know that each state in the United States has its own ‘national day’? Neither did I! After creating my state outlines; I wanted to celebrate each state’s holiday by putting together an armchair travel notebook and highlight the places I’d like to see within each state.

Don't Wait for Permission - Find the Joy| ChocolateMusings.com #randomholidays #challenge #findjoy

Why a Challenge?

I’m always looking for more reasons to celebrate. So why not create a challenge highlighting random holidays of the month and celebrate with you? Because I think inspiration comes from everywhere and comes from living everyday life! So why not add some fun to the every day of life? Don’t wait for permission, go and live!

Random Holidays Challenge - Find Reasons to Add Joy to Your Life | ChocolateMusings.com #randomholidays #challenge #findjoy

Here are the rules:

  • Choose a holiday (or a few!) featured here (or another that you found) and celebrate it in some way.
  • Create something inspired by the holiday, celebrate with your family, blog about the holiday, do something to celebrate.
  • Post your celebration and tag me on social media (@ChocolateMusingsCreates) instagram.com/chocolatemusingscreates. If you create a blog post – tag me on Pinterest (pinterest.com/chocolatemusings). I’ll be sure to share it! Use the hashtag #randomlycelebrated and #ChocolateMusingsCelebrates

The point is to start adding little pockets of fun to your weeks and days so when you look back, there’s something other than getting up, work, driving home, and bits of Netflix on constant repeat.

I’d love to share a few of your creations on my channels!

Create your own Joy | ChocolateMusings.com #randomholidays #challenge #findjoy

Ideas for creating:

  • Letter the name of the holiday
  • Write it in funky fonts
  • Take a picture
  • Doodle
  • Paint
  • Blog post
  • Create a planner spread
  • Create a color palette inspired by the holiday
  • What imaginary character or Disney Princess would most likely celebrate this holiday?
  • What colors should we choose for this holiday?
  • Make a favorite dish or create a new recipe in honor of the day.
  • If the holiday had a mascot, what would it be?
  • Don’t let my ideas limit you. Find something that inspires you, and create!

If you don’t create anything – spend the time with your family or friends! It’s all about creating a better, more fulfilling life. I believe these silly, random holidays help add a little smile to your face and a bit more laughter to your days. Choose to add joy to your life.

Begin Your Bullet Journal – Don’t be Afraid to Start

May 24, 2018 6 Comments

If I could open up a drawer of all planners past, there would be an excellent collection. You’d find all different kinds of planners. I tried them, and I didn’t use them. I liked the idea of them, but then I’d neglect them for a month or so and have all these blank pages in the middle of my book. Then I faced a with a problem. Do I tear out the pages? Do I leave them blank? Usually, I would abandon the planner altogether.  I found the bullet journal system and haven’t looked back. Here’s my advice to you as you begin your bullet journal.

Bullet Journaling is Versatile

Starting a bullet journal can be daunting and overwhelming. Maybe you’ve thought these before:

  • Where do I start? (If you haven’t watched video on the original Bullet Journal by Ryder Carroll here’s the link begin here, so you understand bullet journaling’s foundation)
  • What should I include?
  • I’d like all the collections, but what do I do with them? Where do I start?
  • Everyone has pretty lettering and how do I get that?
  • I need all the fancy on my pages.

The critical thing to know is that your bullet journal will morph with you. If you need to track appointments, start with a Future Planner of some kind, a Monthly Log or Monthly Calendar and a Weekly log. That’s it! Once you are comfortable with your journal, that’s when you start customizing. My journal has morphed into an art journal/art therapy notebook. MommaBearLife.com explains this concept in her blog post. Check it out!

Future Log: 1 month to a page - large goal planning areas & space for lots of to-dos

Recap: Where to Start:

  • Future Log – somewhere to put future appointments and plans
  • Monthly Calendar / Log – overview of the month
  • Weekly Log – if you don’t know how much you need, start here, if you have a lot to plan or keep track of on a daily basis, switch out with a daily log, you can also use the space to write a journal entry

Begin Your Bullet Journal: Follow a Set Format to Start

Begin your bullet journal with the basics. Start with your monthly calendar in a log format which is simple, straightforward and easy. Start with weeklies and work in dailies if you need them. Find a simple, easy-to-create format for your beginning weeklies. Set aside 2-5 minutes every day to plan your day or the following day to make it a habit. Eventually, you’ll become comfortable with the style of a bullet journal and morph it into your own personal style.

I don’t have a lot of plans per se in the day both when I was beginning a bullet journal and even today. There are things I to do, but I don’t have an exorbitant amount of appointments I need to meet and tasks done weekly, rarely on a set day. So using weeklies has been my go-to planning style. If you are a lot busier and have tasks that need to get done on a specific day, use a daily log, either one page or part of a page for each day when setting up your bullet journal. If you use dailies, the needed space will expand and compress based on the day.

My Inspiration

I started watching planning videos with Alexis at strangecharmed.com and found my way over to Kara at Bohoberry.com.  Clark Kegley and his method of journaling also profoundly influenced me. Quickly adapting many ideas from these inspirational entrepreneurs and others and created a style to fit my needs. I started my own YouTube channel, and I love going through the planning process with you! Follow me on YouTube. To inspire you, I have a new series in the works creating headers for collections and other pages, and I am very excited to share it with you! Follow along!

Chocolate Musings on YouTube!

Need to Track Something Instead of Appointments?

Ani over at TheAniKay.com said that she started slow – with just an exercise tracker. Then eventually added more things in, she’s recently switched to a digital planner, and I love seeing the evolution of her planning journey.

My very first and most important recommendation if you are considering bullet journaling – choose the most important thing to track for you and track it. Need to track appointments? Start with a weekly or monthly calendar and add the dates there. If your goal is to lose weight – by all means jot it down! Start with that and add the other stuff in later.

Creative Outlet

In desperate need of a creative outlet? Choose a drawing or doodling challenge, map out a week at a time with seven boxes and doodle one thing every day. Start small. Do not try to do everything at once and do not expect perfection. My bullet journals have at least one mistake per spread, and it’s one thing I’ve learned to accept. Sometimes a whole spread, but the benefits to me of this little book for me outweigh any mistake. Begin your bullet journal adventure without a lot of frills, and begin your bullet journal for you.

Who I am & what I like to do, a definition of me, Bullet journal Collection

Collections

My VERY FAVORITE thing to track in my bullet journal are collections. Collections in your bullet journal are where you can get into a lot of fun. These are things that are uniquely you. Books read, books to read, movies watched, movies to watch. Oh, the possibilities are endless (my ultimate personal favorite is my 10-minute task list). But here’s the deal: Don’t start with everything.

My collections have come out of need. Check out AsARye.com and her array of collections starting the year. Take ideas from sources and turn them into something that works just for you. By the way, I recommend crediting anyone who you reference, they will love it for one thing, and it’s just nice.

Random thoughts and great ideas bullet journal spread idea tracker brain dump

What if You Don’t Want to Mix Them?

So then there’s the age-old question of ‘I don’t want my collections mixed in with my monthly and weeklies – where do I put them?’ A simple answer for me is in the back of the book. One idea is to start on the back page and worked forward, so your planner and your collections meet in the middle.

In March, I started a separate book for my long-term collections and enjoy it. But that is because my journal has evolved with me, don’t try to start too much all at once. Beginning a bullet journal is an ongoing process,  it is not going to all happen at once.

Moving to a New Bullet Journal - in the middle of a year

All the Fancy – Begin your Bullet Journal Simply – the Fancy Will Come

There are gorgeous spreads out there, some that are jaw-dropping. I can tell you, mine did not start out that way, and not all of mine end up picture ready (I have quite a few planner-fails under my belt). The pretty lettering and the gorgeous spreads took time; I had to get used to planning out my days before I could use bullet journaling as a hobby.  And it took lots of time and lots of practice.

Though I have studied fonts and writing styles for nearly my whole life, I still forced myself to learn the fundamentals of brush lettering so I could make the ‘pretty’ letters on my own. It’s still developing, and I know this: it won’t come overnight, and it will require time, effort and patience.

November Called for Structure

I love the bullet journaling system’s versatility, and you can make it adapt to your needs. For a while, I needed a very structured week/month – see November – Plan with me. I had a theme – it was 12×12 boxes. Really. That was my November theme.

Whimsy Defined December

December was all about free-flowing spreads; there were lots of sketches, lots of open spaces. December was A Christmas Story-themed.

January Used the Best of Both (in my opinion)

My yearly theme is Grow. I fully intended to do flowers and other growing items like leaves all the way through, but sometimes you have to go with what comes to you. That’s my tip now. Don’t try to force it. January’s theme was all about transportation. But I used essential elements from both November and December to have structure and art. Each page uniquely reflected a new mode of transportation. I tried out new ways of creating as well. (Watercolor with markers? Yes. – I show you how I do it on my YouTube Channel). I think the combination of November’s function and December’s form created a cohesive feel that met both my planning and my artistic needs.

January Review - Whats Changing in my Bullet Journal next month

The point is when you begin your bullet journal, it seems scary but if you start with my recommendations of a future log, monthly calendar, and weekly log and then the pages won’t stay blank for long, and soon you’ll find a unique style that fits you. In the meantime, you are welcome to use any inspiration you need from me.

February

The second month of the year tried too many things, and it flopped. Many of these tried-and-not-yet-true details didn’t even make it to the blog (yet), but I learned a lot from them.  I hope to revisit some of the ideas, tone them down, and use them later.

March Gave Birth to Two New Journals & April started a Color-Trend

As mentioned above, in March I separated my planning journal from my long-term collections journal. At the rate I was going, I’d start a new journal every six months. The books in my bookcase tracker would hardly have enough time to gather dust before I flipped to a new book!

Minimal monthly welcome page wreath with calendar

Hoping to slow the speed at which I flew through the pages in my notebooks, all long-term collections claimed a new house; I have to say, I like it. In April, I started color-coordinating my designs. It developed into a whole Pinterest board (one of my very favorites), and I love it.

April Monthly Plan With Me, I limited my color palette to create a greater stretch of creativity. Love the results! The circular April Monthly will be available in the Chocolatemusings.com shop!

Condensed May + Traveler’s Notebook

Conserving more space (because I didn’t need it), May’s spreads took up all of 10 pages, two of which are welcome pages. Two weeks to a spread works well for my free-spirited summer-itis.  Keeping a condensed version of my standard planning style keeps me in the habit of planning and journaling and keeps my conscious guilt-free as I’m not leaving blank pages or too much empty space.

June has a few month-related collections, but the planning is very minimal. That’s what happens in the summer, and I am pleased because I know that when I need more planning space, I add it back into this little notebook and when I don’t need as much space, I consolidate.

May Monthly Layouts & welcome pages - ombre watercolor fades using Crayola Markers - Plan With Me

Sometimes I want to have a template and print it rather than creating it over and over. That’s where my traveler’s notebook came into play. I built one for about $12 and use it for collections or lists and change them out regularly. Over the last couple of months, I’ve used my Alphabet inspiration booklet insert to create new typefaces and practice styles. It’s available in my shop!

ChocolateMusings.com shop

What’s the point?

The point is this little system is entirely up to you. Do what suits you best, find your style, experiment, let yourself have fun and know you can change it. Don’t get so stuck on making it perfect or doing too much. The evolution of my first bullet journal to now is eye-opening and utterly fantastic. The bullet journal notebook is the first planner I’ve fully completed, and I look forward to creating many more. I hope you bite the bullet and begin it.

The ultimate point is to begin your bullet journal and put aside your fears of starting. I promise the hardest thing is to make that first mark in your book. Once you do that, you’ll never look back, or maybe you will, and smile because it’s a grand adventure.

Remember to plan your life, so you live beautifully.

~Tricia

My Muses: Sources of Inspiration & Favorites #1

March 5, 2018 1 Comment

Sources of Inspiration and Favorite Items #1

I’ve wanted to feature various sources of inspiration for a long time now. I imagined myself Oprah-esque telling you about the things that inspire me. Well, maybe someday I will do a giveaway of my favorite things. But now I will just share them for your own inspiration.

My Muses - Inspiration comes in all shapes and packaging material - a collection of favorite things. Sources of inspiration curated all across the internet

Contains Affiliate Links

When Does Inspiration Come?

The thing is, inspiration can come from anywhere, so you will see quotes, products, YouTube videos, Instagram accounts, blogs, you name it. If it inspires me, I want to share it with you. I hope you enjoy and find some inspiration too.

I always love to hear what inspires others. Leave comments on what has inspired you this week. I’d like to check them out! I will certainly give you a shout out if you inspired me to find inspiration.

So what’s inspired me this week:

Blogs/YouTube

First up – I love this Truth-Bomb-Telling-Mom on many levels, but I’ve never been emotional about what she says. This one was emotional. I need to figure out what I am telling myself and try her experiment. See for yourself what it is.

Social Media:

I aspire to have clean, minimal designs in my bullet journal. However, I am pretty sure it’s not in my DNA. I happened on this account and ogled all the posts. How can there be so much function with so much incredible white space? Are you looking for minimal design? Take a good long gander at @supermassiveblackink on Instagram.

Minimalism is great, but if you are looking for a little more color with incredible calligraphy skills, look no further than @sunlanterns her bullet journaling is beautiful, her calligraphy is ON point (pun totally intended), and the textures used in her photography are eye-catching and stunning.

January Review - Whats Changing in my Bullet Journal next month

If you’ve scoped out any of my watercolored bullet journals lately, you will see that I use Crayola Markers as my watercolor. Yes – I use Crayola Markers or Tombow Dual Brush Markers scribbled on a smooth plate (or Ziploc bag) and a paintbrush with a bit of water or a water pen.

I like this especially for bullet journaling because I can erase pencil behind it, it doesn’t seem to need as much water and doesn’t leave a funny texture as watercolor paints do.

Books:

In my quest for self-improvement through habits, I started reading books on habits and habit formation. I happened on “Better Than Before” by Gretchen Rubin, and after I turned it into the library, I bought it.

I don’t like to rate books because I feel like if someone poured their heart and soul into those pages, how am I to flippantly leaf through the pages and then give it a rating? So I decided to come up with a rating scale all my own. You can assign stars if you wish as there are 5 questions.

  1. Did I finish the book? Yes
  2. Did I take notes? Yes
  3. Have I used the book to change my life? Yes
  4. Would I reread it? Yes
  5. Would I buy the book? Yes (and I did!)

Skillshare Classes

Brace yourself; I am going to talk about this a lot. It’s simply because I LOVE IT. I signed up in January, and I have taken 30+ classes (that’s an understatement).

I adore learning new things. So, of course, I would say Skillshare ROCKS! My problem is I take too many courses. One of my favorite courses was by Yasmina Creates – Easy Watercolor Sweets & Treats for beginners. That class inspired me to paint some strawberries.

It’s not just creative classes. There are business, time management, project classes, and so much more! Try out the Skillshare premium membership for free. You’ll thank me later – and please tell me what your favorite Skillshare classes are as well.

I hope you’ve enjoyed a sneak peek into my sources of inspiration. I hope to curate more awesome from across the internet and inspire you as well. Please let me know below what you’ve found that inspires you.

February Review

Unfinished Projects Bullet Journal Spread

One day, because we’re kind of nerdy, my husband and I looked up why February was shorter than all the other months. What I remember of that brief Google search is that they hated that month. Farmers didn’t like that month, and it was a month to be cast aside and anticipate what was coming next. Well, this year, I can’t say I disagree.

My February mid-month habit check was pathetic (my habits and I were on a break) and nothing seemed to work well last month. After some introspection, I discovered that I was not writing things down and I was just trying to keep it all in my head.

Why?

Partially because I was moving to a new notebook and I wasn’t making consorted effort to keep track of all my projects. So I just got frustrated. Then I was frustrated that I was frustrated. Have you ever been there? I know am not alone. A minimalistic mind map layout showing my unfinished projects seemed to clear the fog.

Plans Do Not Have to be Linear

My February weekly spreads are distinct and different week to week! I recorded videos and walked you through how to create them. I even did real-time freehand drawings so you could see more of the process. Well, guess what? I never posted them. During my slump, I wondered if it would even be worth posting. The month ended, and it wouldn’t be ‘in the month that I created it.’

So is it worth it to post? Absolutely! I figure you wouldn’t have used it in February anyway.

Thankfully the cloudy thoughts parted, and figurative sunrays enlightened my mind. I realized that just because the week has passed, the information is still useful! So I will post those weeks later. I got so caught up ‘in the moment of relevance’ that I forgot to take time to ‘be in the moment.’ Posting my March welcome page the day before or the week before on Instagram isn’t necessary. I realized that I love seeing past month’s posts from others and it doesn’t matter to me if it is for that month or not. Inspiration doesn’t need a timeline to be inspiring.

There’s so much I want to share with you! Pages and pages of ideas scatter through my notebooks. I hope you come here hungry for inspiration because I want to serve you a feast.  My ambition is to live by the concept of the design rather than the date in my notebook.

My Inspiration:

I have to credit a couple of people for this inspiration. One is my friend at TheAniKay.com – Ani and I got to meet when she was here in Atlanta for work. We got dinner at one of my favorite spots (Tacos & Tequilas), and then we went to Michael’s. It was a good day! When Ani posted her change of mindset on her blog (read it here), and it got me thinking. I am not one to follow the crowd and never have been.

Tales of a 6th Grade Nothing:

In 6th grade at lunch one day, I remember one of the popular girls asked me to sit at her table (an outsider’s dream!). At first, my heart pumped, and I could hear my heartbeat throbbing in my ears with excitement. But then I told her no.

When I told her no in that split second, I knew that I didn’t want to do what the other girls at that table did. Their hair was the same, and their clothes were from the same store, they even talked the same. I didn’t want to be a copy. Most of all I didn’t want to act the way they acted, they weren’t very nice.

Ambitions: What’s coming:

Since then, I have thought a lot about what I wanted to do. I love posting my monthly & weekly spreads, quotes, mantras, etc. That will continue, but maybe not in the order of creation.

I’ve also wanted to curate inspiration from all over to get your creative gears turning. That is, after all, the goal here.  I will be adding a ‘favorites day.’ I want to share with you what inspires me and what my favorite things are.

Instagram Does Not Rule My Life

Instagram’s algorithms display my content days or weeks later than I post. So why does it matter when I post the content? I am not going to live and die by the way Instagram decides to serve (or not serve up) my content. If I am busy living life and don’t get to post something the day I should according to the current platform algorithm, well, good for me. I’m living life.

What Does that Mean?

That means my posts won’t be timely when it comes to weekly & monthly layouts (posting the week/day before the date occurs on the calendar). But I think that timelines are irrelevant when it comes to that anyway. You can recreate a spread from my March into your October or December journals without caring that it came from my March spread.

You can use an idea from a collection and turn it into a tracker or another spread.

This blog is meant to inspire. If it is only inspirational right this minute, well, that’s a lot of effort for just a moment. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and let that take over.  I have three kids, a husband, a house, a job, a cat, church responsibilities. I drive like a civilized human being, I try to smile at strangers (I have an ongoing battle with RBF), and I am trying to make the best of things in my life. Following my advice: plan your life, so you live beautifully. Sometimes living beautifully means that I live on my schedule and I go to the park instead of edit a video.

Ambitions: Help You Find Your Inner Muse

I love creating content for you. Hearing that I helped make a difference in your life and ignited your inner muse is AMAZING. I lived through years of what I call the ‘dark ages’ where I never touched a paintbrush or picked up a pencil. When I finally rediscovered my inner muse, I vowed never to let her go. I intend to help others find their inner muse and enjoy life too.

Life is complicated and messy. My bullet journal has helped restore some order to my life, and for that I am grateful. I am also grateful to create and be creative.

I hope that no matter when you find this content, you will be inspired in some way.  And the figurative sunrays will find their way through cloudy thoughts and lighten your day.

My goal in life is to be happier. I read books on the subject, make goals, create habit trackers, all to lead a happier, more fulfilling life. Forgive me if I am behind on posting my weekly or monthly layouts. I am working on forgiving myself for it too.

Here’s Your Challenge:

Decide who you are and be that. Choose what you do, who you talk to, your friends, when you post to social media, and how you live your life.

About Me

Hi! I'm Tricia, the creative behind ChocolateMusings.com, I know how it feels to lose your inner muse. After years of darkness (which I call the dark ages of my life), I found my inner muse hiding in the forgotten corners of my soul, I vowed never to lose sight of her again.

Bullet journaling helped reignite the passion for art and living life again while organizing my days. I also discovered modern calligraphy and watercolor. Since then, my use of the bullet journal system has evlolved and I call it 'creative planning'. Here on the blog, I show you how to use your planner to ignite your inner muse and explore creativity and art while staying beautifully organized and living a joyful life.

I invite you to grab some good chocolate and dive into my musings. Let’s ignite your inner muse.
