What are Random Holidays?

Random holidays are not national holidays. Sometimes a company creates a holiday to promote their brand or product. (Like have a Coke day). Some holidays support a cause or charity. Most of the random holidays I chose for my Random Holiday Calendar are related to creativity, food, words, traveling (each state’s holiday is the day it became a state), and other fun holidays such as “International Talk Like a Pirate Day.”

At the bottom of this post, you’ll find a calendar with all of my curated Random Holidays. Don’t worry, I’ve included instructions so you can add this calendar to your Google calendar list so you won’t miss a chance to randomly celebrate! Toggle on/off the calendar as needed in your calendar list.

I hope you’ll join me in finding joy and good moments instead of focusing on worldly negativity. Choose a couple of random holidays to celebrate in the month with me and focus your attention on something that brings you joy.

Want ideas on how to celebrate? Check out this post.

Random Holiday Suggestions for Your Planner | ChocolateMusings.com

What random holidays are you looking forward to the most in October?

I know I’m looking forward to National Homemade Cookie Day, National Be Nice Day/Do Something Nice Day, No Bra Day, National Dessert Day, and of course, National Chocolate Day.

This month is also National Sarcasm Awareness Month. Since sarcasm is my native language, I look forward to celebrating that all month long for sure!

To celebrate national homemade cookie day, I thought I’d share my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe if you can keep yourself from eating all of them, save a few and savor them on the chocolate day at the end of the month. FYI, they freeze really well as uncooked dough or after baking them.

I promise you’ll want to pin this one! Find the recipe below.

  • Celebrate how you want! National Apple Day October 21 | ChocolateMusings.com #nationalappleday #appleday

Food Holidays in October

I love to celebrate with food. In addition to homemade cookie day here are some more food holidays in October:

1- National Homemade Cookies day – see below for my favorite homemade cookie recipe.
4 – Cinnamon Roll Day
4 – Taco Day
13 – M&M Day
14 – Dessert Day
17 – Pasta Day – seriously, I love when national days make my dinner plans for me. What kind of pasta would you eat on pasta day?
18 – Chocolate Cupcake Day
21 – Apple Day
24 – Food Day – this random holiday is more than it seems. Rather than stuffing our faces full of food, it focuses on eating healthy and cutting back on unhealthy foods.
26 – Pumpkin Day – I’m not particularly eager to eat pumpkins, but I sure do like to decorate them. October is a perfect month to celebrate this decorative fruit!
28 – Chocolate Day
30 – Candy Corn Day
31 – Caramel Apple Day

If you’d prefer to celebrate all month long, satisfy your sweet tooth with National Caramel Month. If you don’t have a sweet tooth, try celebrating National Pizza Month instead.

Whether it’s the chocolate day on the 28th, or a random holiday celebrating chocolate cupcakes on the 18th, I know I’ll indulge a little in this sweet treat. There’s a reason why I named my blog ChocolateMusings.com. Though I won’t participate in Candy Corn Day (my teeth hurt just thinking about this overly sweet candy) I had to add this special Random Holiday to the October calendar for my kids. What are your favorite treats?

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 t vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c flour
  • 2 c oatmeal, measured, then chopped in a food processor (not too fine)
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 1 teaspoon each baking powder & baking soda
  • 1 (12 oz) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 large Hershey’s chocolate bars chopped in a blender (freeze for easier chopping)

  3. Mix well. Stir in chocolate chips, chopped chocolate, and nuts.
  4. Make golf-ball-sized cookies. Place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375° for 11-12 minutes.

Creative Random Holidays in October

2 – Name your car day – what’s the name of your car?
6 – Mad Hatter Day
22 – National Color Day
25 – National Art Day / International Artists Day
28 – Animation Day

One idea to celebrate Name Your Car Day on the 2nd is to make a list of all the cars you’ve owned with their names in your bullet journal.

National Art Day/International Artists Day is on October 25th, and I’m excited to post some of my paintings on social media. Galaxy & moon landscapes are high on my love to paint list lately. There’s just something so relaxing about painting the night sky and watching the colors melt together.

Positivity/Self Care Random Holidays in October

5 – National Be Nice Day
5- National Do Something Nice day
7 – National Inner Beauty Day – don’t we all need a reminder to recognize our inner beauty?
13 – National No Bra Day – I’m not sure how many people would consider this day self-care, but I do! What’s your opinion about this day?
17 – Mulligan Day – seriously, look this one up. When I read what it meant, I knew I had to include it. Everyone deserves a second chance.
19 – Evaluate Your Life Day – enough said. Spend some time journaling or thinking about your goals. Then make your plans and live it out. Decide what you’d like to change. You could even celebrate Mulligan day a couple of days late and take a second chance!
29 – National Hermit Day – because sometimes you need a break from society to restore your mental health.

Monthly Holidays

All month long, you can celebrate “I’m Just Me Because…” and Emotional Wellness Month.

Every first Friday of October – celebrate World Smile Day
Every 4th Saturday of October – randomly celebrate Make a Difference Day

Get a handle on your finances during October’s Financial Planning Month. I don’t know about you, but when I have my finances under control, it’s always a reason to celebrate. I dedicate a lot of pages in my bullet journal to tracking finances but I also use an app called “You Need a Budget” (believe me, I’ve used many programs and have stuck with this one for several years). It helped save our finances during a year of unemployment. How do you track your finances?

Animal Celebrations

4 – World Animal Day
8 – World Octopus Day
20 – International Sloth Day – celebrate this day in two ways. The first by celebrating this slow-moving animal. The second way to celebrate is to slow yourself down and take a break from stress.
27 -Black Cat Day

All month long you can celebrate Bat Appreciation Month and Black Cat Appreciation month. I don’t know if there is a more perfect month than October for these Random holidays.

I love to doodle animals – to celebrate world animal day (and other various animal days), I created these fun animal outline pintables available in my shop!

10 – Handbag Day – what’s in your bag?
12 – Savings Day (this month is also financial planning month – just in time to prepare for the upcoming holiday season)
16 – Dictionary Day
18 – No Beard Day – we just celebrated beard day in September, so I guess we need an opposite holiday?
21 – Back to the Future Day – I’d love to celebrate by watching this fun trilogy. In case you didn’t know, the Delorean was set to go back to October 21, so it only fits to celebrate today!
31 – Doorbell Day and Knock-knock jokes day (of course to celebrate Halloween).

Some other fun month-long random holidays to add to your October Calendar:

  • Go on a Field Trip Month
  • Roller Skating Month – my kids will be excited for this one!
  • Sarcasm Awareness Month – you’re welcome for this one.

Random Holidays – Google Calendar

After celebrating different holidays for over a year, I decided to create a Google Calendar to see all the holidays I’d love to celebrate. It makes it easy to share creations, words, and ideas on social media and with friends and family. The best part about Google calendars is that you can toggle them on and off when you don’t want to see them.

If you click on the calendar item, it has a link to the source & relevant hashtags! I’m always evolving this calendar – and I will add calendar days or corrections all the time.

Tip: The calendar will show the current month, you can navigate to the month of your choice by using the arrows or dropdown.

If you want to add my calendar to your Google calendar:

  • Go to your Google calendars and click the + next to other calendars
  • Choose ‘add other calendars.’
  • Then click Subscribe to Calendar
  • After that, paste the text below in the “add calendar.”
  • Toggle the schedule on and off when you want to access it – that’s what I do.

chocolatemusings.com_q316ucpnldal611fs2q2nnk7v0@group.calendar.google.com

I won’t list all the random holidays, but just the ones that work with ChocolateMusings.com – so, of course, you’ll see a lot of food, art, creativity & some miscellaneous holidays are thrown in as well.

August Random Holidays – add Some Fun, Creative, and Random Holidays to Your Calendar

August Random Holidays - add some fun, creative, & random holidays to your calendar | ChocolateMusings.com #augustrandomholidays #randomholidays #celebrate

Whether you are winding down summer and starting school or still basking in the summer sun, August has some great random holidays to share with your family.

What Does August Mean to You?

I sure love the smell of a freshly sharpened pencil bouquet and newly opened chalk and erasers. Don’t you relish the sight of all those chiseled markers in various colors ready to call attention to reading, writing, and math questions? Where we live, August is the start of a brand-new school year. And we start early in the month, the first Monday!

I love school supplies partially because they go so well with my notebooks. But I have always loved them. I worked for an office supply store for a long time, and people knew to ask me questions about pens and paper because I was passionate about them. If you have a favorite pen or are picky about your notebook, then you know what I mean.

You can check out my list of favorite lettering supplies or bullet journal supplies in these posts.

New Schedules = Second Chances?

August also signifies the start-up of new schedules for the coming months for us. It’s almost like a second chance at the year! No matter when you start the school year here’s an opportunity to add some fun to your calendar with the random holidays for August.

Holiday Categories

I certainly don’t include all the Random Holidays for any given month, so you’ll find a list of websites at the bottom of this post that you can search for additional holidays that suit your family. I also created a Google Calendar, which is shared for free. Included underneath the calendar are instructions on how to add the calendar to your view. You can toggle it on and off, so it doesn’t clutter your regular schedule.

I like to break the Random Holidays into sections like food, outdoors, and other holidays. I hope you find something (or a few) to celebrate this August!

Week/Month Long Celebrations

Simplify Your Life Week. Now this is a week I can get behind. Use the time to refocus and declutter. Though we often think of ‘things’ to declutter NationalDayCalendar.com suggests decluttering anything (not just objects) that causes stress or anxiety. I’m definitely going to start with a list of things I can either eliminate or reduce in my life.

What are some ways you could simplify your life?

Be Kind to Humankind Week. Last Week in August. The touching story of why Lorraine Jara was inspired to create this week really hits home. How often have we ignored an opportunity to be kind to others? It’s one of my life goals to be more kind.

Random Food Holidays in August

2 – Ice Cream Sandwich Day
3 – Watermelon Day
4 – Chocolate Chip Cookie Day
6- National Root Beer Float Day – are you an ice cream or root beer first when creating this tasty recipe?
10 – S’ mores Day
18 – National Fajita Day – Yum! This is one meal my family doesn’t argue (too much) about when I fix it. I guess I know what’s on the menu tonight!
20 – National Lemonade Day
24 – Waffle Day
25 – Banana Split Day
29 – National Lemon Juice Day – when life gives you lemons, what do you make?

We love waffles in our house, so even though waffle day is celebrated more than once in the year, we don’t miss it! I know what we are having for dinner on the 24th.

Celebrating with food is the easiest way to highlight the day. Although I love to doodle or paint food, so making something to represent it is always an option!

Creativity

1 – Planner Day
2 – Coloring Book Day
16 – Tell a Joke Day
19 – World Photo Day

World Calligraphy Day – 2nd Wednesday of August – celebrate by buying a calligraphy pen or letter your favorite quote. Don’t have a favorite quote? Find a list of my favorite inspirational quotes here. Or try a variant of calligraphy by starting your handlettering journey!

What’s your favorite joke? We have silly ones in our house that the kids made up but don’t make any sense. Whether you tell a joke on the 16th or not, you could record the silly jokes your kids used to say or write some down in your journal.

Indoor/Outdoor

August Indoor Random Holidays

9 – Book Lovers Day – Whether you celebrate this random holiday indoors or outdoors, use the excuse to grab a book and enjoy it.
10 – Lazy Day – Here’s your permission to laze about and get nothing done. Take a day and be lazy. It’s part of the celebration.
15 – Relaxation Day – go ahead and relax! You’ve worked hard (even on lazy day)!

Outdoor Holidays

6 – Cycle to Work Day
7 – Light House Day
11 – Mountain Day – celebrated in Japan, it spread to other countries as well. Where could you go hiking or just view a majestic mountain? Take a day to appreciate nature in the form of mountains. In 2021, Japan will celebrate this holiday on the 9th instead of the 11th to coincide with the end of the Summer Olympics.
16 – Roller Coaster Day
30 – Beach Day
31 – Eat Outside Day

Images of lighthouses are some of my favorites, with the surf crashing against the side and the light shining true no matter what. It is absolutely one of my favorite images. I know I need to celebrate lighthouse day by pinning some spectacular lighthouse images & maybe painting a few.

Celebrate Animals

4 – International Clouded Leopard Day
8 – International Cat Day
10 – Spoil Your Dog Day – as if we need an excuse!
12 – World Elephant Day
14 – World Lizard Day
17 – National Black Cat Appreciation Day – I thought they had a day in October. But I’ll appreciate a velvety soft black cat any day.
19 – International Orangutan Day
26 – National Dog Day
30 – International Whale Shark Day

August Random Holidays

8 – Happiness Happens Day #happinesshappensday
12 – Middle Child Day
13 – Left Hander’s Day
27 – Just Because Day
28 – Bow Tie Day

I think that Happiness Happens Day is a perfect day to include in this random holiday calendar! According to the National Day Calendar, this day was founded in 1999 by the Secret Society of Happy People. They identified 31 ways to be happy. Check it out and see how many ways you enjoy being happy.

Which Random Holidays Will You Celebrate in August?

I hope you found some inspiration this August to celebrate some random holidays or to make something creative to break up the monotony of the day-to-day. That’s my goal with these random holidays every month. When I look back, I want unique memories that last instead of looking back and figuring out where the time went.

Be sure to add some fun days to your bullet journal or planner. It’s the only way I remember to celebrate.

Need Some Ideas for Creating Using Random Holidays as Your Inspiration?

That sounds fun. Here are some ways you can be creative!

  • Letter the name of the holiday (want to learn to hand letter? Here’s where to start handlettering.)
  • Write it in funky fonts (check out this post for ideas.)
  • Take a picture (I heard selfies are a thing 😜).
  • Doodle the holiday
  • Paint a picture of the holiday or you celebrating the holiday.
  • Write a blog post or journal entry.
  • Create a planner spread.
  • Create a color palette inspired by the holiday.
  • What imaginary character or Disney Princess would most likely celebrate this holiday?
  • What colors should we choose for this holiday?
  • Make a favorite dish or create a new recipe in honor of the day.
  • If the holiday had a mascot, what would it be?
  • Don’t let my ideas limit you. Find something that inspires you, and create!

If you don’t create anything – spend the time with your family or friends! It’s all about creating a better, more fulfilling life. I believe these silly, random holidays help add a little smile to your face and a bit more laughter to your days. Choose to add joy to your life.

July Random Holidays – Add Some Fun, Creative & Random Holidays to Your Calendar

July Random Holidays - add some fun, creative, & random holidays to your calendar | ChocolateMusings.com #julyrandomholidays #randomholidays #celebrate

Don’t you think that we all could need some random holidays to celebrate this July? I don’t know about you, but I know I need to take control of something in my life because it feels like everything is out of control. The only thing that I know that I have control over how happy I am – because I believe that happiness is a choice.

But choosing to be happy is tough some days! I’ve found that adding some random holidays to your monthly calendar helps create an excuse to be happy even when it’s tough.

This July, we have some fun random holidays to look forward to celebrating. Food days like lollipop day or junk food day are destined to provide a good laugh. By the way, I’d love to know which holidays you celebrate! Leave me a note and let me know which ones you added to your schedule.

Teach Yourself to Look on the Bright Side with Random Holidays

Teaching myself to look on the bright side of life isn’t easy! That’s why I decided to start celebrating random holidays. Celebrating a silly holiday is an excellent way for my family to smile and laugh. Like always, I choose to feature silly or food-related holidays, and of course, creative days! But there are many more random holidays that you could add to your calendar.

I invite you to choose some random holidays this July and add them to your calendar. You’d be surprised how adding little snippets of fun to your schedule improves your mood.

July is a special month for me – it’s my birthday month! I have a goal to focus on being happy and seeing the good this month. The other goal I have is to come up with as many puns as I can related to these July random holidays.

Find Other Random Holidays to Celebrate in July

If you’d like to find other random holidays to celebrate in July or any other month, I have a list of websites at the bottom of this post that you can search for additional holidays that suit your family. They add new holidays all the time. I created a Google Calendar which I share for free. I included instructions on how to add the calendar view so you can refer to it. If you were to celebrate the random holiday on July 21 with your favorite junk food, what would you choose? I believe I would snack on some Hot Tamales or a Twix bar. Of course, if you made sugar cookies for the 9th and wisely stowed some away, you could snack on sugar cookies.

It sure seems like we celebrate a lot of ice cream-related random holidays during June and July. Not that I’m complaining about the ice cream. On the contrary, I think whoever designated these holidays was very wise, and we should have more ice cream random holidays. If you like ice cream, check out my June Plan With me, it’s all about ice cream.

Side note, if you want to find out about the holiday’s origins, check out the links below, I link to each website source. And there are a lot more random holidays to celebrate, more than my little featured selection.

The other July Random Holiday I look forward to celebrating is Moon Day! I LOVE to paint the moon. It has to be one of my favorite art subjects. Here’s a link to all of the Skillshare classes relating to the moon. My personal favorite is by Kolbie Bloom, where she shows three incredible and easy techniques to watercolor paint the moon.

If you’re a Skillshare member, let me know which class is your favorite. If you’re not a member, snag a free trial and explore all things moon-related to celebrate on Moon day!

Here are some of my favorite moon paintings, and if you can’t tell, I love to celebrate a random holiday by creating something related to the day.

6 – Kissing Day
8 – Video Game Day
10 – Kitten Day
29 – Lipstick Day
31 – Harry Potter’s Birthday

What fun could you have on kitten day? I better not tell my kids about this holiday, we might end up adopting all the kittens!

I know my husband and my kids will find a way to celebrate video game day. Whether it’s an excuse to play or a real celebration, I don’t think I’ll ever know. Either way, I don’t know that I care.

Oh, there are so many ways to celebrate Harry Potter’s Birthday! Have a movie marathon. Wizardingworld.com features various actors & actresses reading chapters of Harry Potter. Of course, there is butterbeer and other tasty treats to discover from the magical world of Harry Potter. If you need a quiet day, you can always sit and read your favorite book in the series. Mine is book number #3.

I won’t list all the random holidays, but just the ones that work with ChocolateMusings.com – so, of course, you’ll see a lot of food, art, creativity & some miscellaneous holidays are thrown in as well.

June Random Holidays – Add Some Fun, Creative, & Random Holidays to Your Calendar

June Random Holidays - add some fun, creative, & random holidays to your calendar | ChocolateMusings.com #junerandomholidays #randomholidays #celebrate

Summer is in full swing when the month of June hits our calendars. At least where we live. School schedules are quickly forgotten, but I love to add some June random holidays to celebrate to our calendar.

The holidays in June don’t disappoint, either. I love to separate the listed random holidays into different categories, as you can see below.

At the bottom of the post is a Google Calendar I created, which I share for free that includes my chosen random holidays. Don’t worry, I also included instructions on how to add the calendar to your view. You can always toggle it on and off, so it doesn’t clutter your regular schedule.

I certainly don’t include all the Random Holidays for any given month, so you’ll find a list of websites at the bottom of this post that you can search for additional holidays that suit your family. You can also check out the monthly archives.

The Random Holidays for June are separated into different sections like food, outdoors, and other holidays. I hope you find something (or a few) to celebrate this June!

Random Food Holidays in June

2 – Rotisserie Chicken Day – what’s your favorite chicken recipe? Mine is a good Chicken Salad recipe. Throw it on a croissant and I’m in heaven! Now, If only I could get my kids to eat chicken salad sandwiches.
3 – Egg Day
8 – Name Your Poison Day
11 – Corn on the Cob Day
17 – Eat Your Vegetables Day
22 – Onion Rings Day
29 – Waffle Iron Day

I know there are at least three random food holidays I plan to celebrate this June: corn on the cob day, eat your vegetables day and waffle iron day.

My kids LOVE vegetables, and that includes corn on the cob. Favorite veggies in our house are corn, cucumbers, steamed carrots, & lots of roasted vegetables like broccoli and asparagus. What are some of your favorites?

Anytime I have an excuse to do breakfast for dinner, I take it. The kids are also huge fans of waffles (well, two of them are, anyway). What better way to celebrate waffle iron day than plan dinner around this random holiday?

You could also paint some delicious-looking waffles to celebrate. I did that, too. When I was out west visiting family, we found a fun waffle chain called Waffle Luv. And boy, oh boy, did they have good waffles. I wish I could celebrate waffle iron day with them.

Sometimes I need an excuse to go outside. I’m sure you know the feeling, it’s easy to stay inside after work and watch tv. These are a few excuses to get you outside and get you laughing. If not outside, then these June Random Holidays are excellent subjects for painting or doodling.

February Random Holidays

January 23, 2020 Leave a Comment

February Random Holidays Celebrate the Small Things | ChocolateMusings.com #celebrate #randomholidays

The month of February has some great random holidays to add to your calendar and celebrate. Which holidays do you plan on celebrating?

Does it surprise you at all that February has something to do with romance? All month long, in February, we celebrate Creative Romance Month. What would you imagine is creative romance? I believe that it’s breaking out of the same cycle and trying something new.

Maybe instead of dinner and a movie, skip the film and explore a botanical garden. Or on National Kite Flying day, grab your significant other and say ‘let’s go fly a kite!’ Then send it soaring.

February celebrates plenty of delicious and tempting random food holidays because we all know that the diets are off. Let’s bring on the chocolate, Nutella & snackfood (in moderation of course). I wouldn’t mind some hot breakfasts, either.

Random Holidays Challenge - Find Reasons to Add Joy to Your Life | ChocolateMusings.com #randomholidays #challenge #findjoy

Try These February Random Holidays:

Coming up in February – Nutella day. Not only is Nutella celebrated Nationally – but worldwide. I find that people either love or hate it. Are you team Nutella or not?

The 23rd is National Banana Bread Day. I recommend celebrating that random holiday with a recipe for banana bread I found long ago. It is hands down the best banana bread I’ve ever eaten. I get requests from friends to make that banana bread quite often. So I make a bunch (ha!) then freeze it. You’re welcome in advance.

In addition to honoring grapefruit all month long, February also celebrates National Hot Breakfast Month and National Snackfood Month. I’ll take both, maybe hot breakfast & snacks in bed?

Celebrating All Month Long:

  • Creative Romance Month #CreativeRomanceMonth. What is the most romantic thing someone could do for you?
  • Grapefruit Month #NationalGrapefruitMonth – do you eat your grapefruit with sweetener or salt or none of the above? I love to smother mine in powdered sugar.
  • Hot Breakfast Month #NationalHotBreakfastMonth or #HotBreakfastMonth. My kids like waffles, but my husband is not such a fan – he prefers hashbrowns. Besides those two choices, what is your favorite hot breakfast food?
  • Snack Food Month #NationalSnackFoodMonth or #SnackFoodMonth. If you were stranded on a desert island with only one snackfood, what would you choose?

State Random Holidays in February:

  • 1 – National Texas Day
  • 8 – National Iowa Day
  • 15 – National Wisconsin Day
  • 22 – National California Day

Do you call Iowa, Wisconsin or California home? You’re in luck, check out my state prints in my shop!

State Holidays

In celebration of the state’s statehood birthday, each month, the honored state will be on sale! I created 8 variations for each state, and they make lovely wall displays. Print it out, and frame it, and show it off! They make great gifts! All the states are available in my shop!

Random Food Holidays in February

Because celebrating with food is so much fun! Food usually means someone else is involved (though, it doesn’t have to if you don’t want to share!)

As a family, we loved celebrating National Popcorn Day in January. We munched on this treat while watching a movie. I can’t tell you how much my kids look forward to celebrating these random holidays.

  • 1 – Eat Ice Cream for Breakfast Day – the holiday that started it off for me. When I found this obscure random holiday last year, I knew there had to be more fun holidays. Guess what? I was right.
  • 5 – WORLD Nutella Day #wordnutelladay #nutella #nutelladay
  • 6 – National Chopsticks Day #nationalchopsticksday. My daughter and I love using chopsticks. However, no one else in our family likes to use them.
  • 9 – National Pizza Day #NationalPizzaDay What’s your favorite pizza? I like chicken, mushrooms, olives and alfredo sauce.
  • 11 – Don’t cry over spilled milk day. (I have to ask – is this considered a food day or just a random holiday?)
  • 14 – National Cream-Filled Chocolates Day
  • 19 – National Chocolate Mint Day. Two of my favorite flavor combinations. Actually, chocolate & mint are the inspiration behind the colors of my blog!
  • 20 – National Muffin Day – We love coffee cake muffins – anything with cinnamon & sugar topping it must be good!
  • 23 – National Banana Bread Day (Don’t miss my favorite banana bread recipe, it’s SO good!)
  • 24 – National Tortilla Chip Day – melt a little cheese over the top and dip in salsa. Chips & salsa are absolutely one of our favorite snacks.
  • 25 – National Chocolate Covered Nut Day anything covered in chocolate makes it better, right?

Pet/Animal-Related Random Holidays

  • 3 – Golden Retriever Day #goldenretriever #goldenretreiverday – I would love to get a golden retriever!
  • 20 – National Love your Pet Day – Shouldn’t it be ‘love your pet’ every day? But I guess pets need a special day too.
  • 27 – National Polar Bear Day #NationalPolarBearDay

Other Random Holidays in February:

  • 1 – National Get Up Day – Whether you want to or not, I’m sure some people will celebrate this holiday. You could get up and eat ice cream for breakfast if that helps.
  • 7 – National Periodic Table Day #PeriodicTableDay – by the way, you should look up Periodic Table puns. There are so many good/bad puns related to the periodic table!
  • 7 – National Send a Card to a friend day #SendACardToAFriendDay How cute is this random holiday? Near or far, we all have friends that could use a random card in the mail.
  • 8 – National Kite Flying Day #NationalKiteFlyingDay. Years ago, we bought some nice kites & have flown them for over a decade. If you get the chance to buy a nice kite, do it. They glide on the slightest breeze and don’t require miles of running to get them in the sky.
  • 10 – National Umbrella Day #NationalUmbrellaDay
  • 11 – National Make a Friend day. I know as an introvert it’s very hard for me to reach out to people, but it’s nice to remember that others might have an equally hard time as well. It’s ok to use this day as an excuse.
  • 14 – National Ferris Wheel Day. Do you have a Ferris wheel near to where you live? We have one not too far away in Downtown Atlanta. I’ve decided that I’m adding riding it to my bucket list – I can’t believe we’ve never ridden it!
  • 17 – National Random Acts of Kindness Day Let me ask – why is this not a month-long holiday? After all, we should celebrate this random holiday for more than just a day.
  • 26 – National Tell a Fairy Tale Day #TellAFairyTaleDay
  • 28 – Floral Design Day (This day works perfectly with our Floral Alphabet Challenge!)

What Will You Celebrate?

Of all of the holidays, which random holidays will you add to your February calendar? Start by adding one or two random holidays. It’s ok to miss them if you’re too busy.

Whatever you choose, I hope they add a little spark of joy as a result of celebrating or even adding them to your calendar. That’s why I started adding random holidays to my schedule and why I decided to share them with you.

Need some ideas on how to celebrate the random holidays?

After deciding which days you’ll celebrate, choose how to celebrate. It’s not necessary to go out and celebrate. After all, there’s no one way to mark the occasion. If you want to create something in commemoration of the holiday, be my guest.

That sounds fun. Here are some ways you can be creative!

About Me

Hi! I'm Tricia, the creative behind ChocolateMusings.com, I know how it feels to lose your inner muse. After years of darkness (which I call the dark ages of my life), I found my inner muse hiding in the forgotten corners of my soul, I vowed never to lose sight of her again.

Bullet journaling helped reignite the passion for art and living life again while organizing my days. I also discovered modern calligraphy and watercolor. Since then, my use of the bullet journal system has evlolved and I call it 'creative planning'. Here on the blog, I show you how to use your planner to ignite your inner muse and explore creativity and art while staying beautifully organized and living a joyful life.

I invite you to grab some good chocolate and dive into my musings. Let’s ignite your inner muse.
